Peacebuilding charity International Alert is recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers for its Talking Peace Festival this September (http://international-alert.org/news/talking-peace-festival). Through a series of events across London, the festival will highlight the importance of dialogue in resolving conflicts.

The festival will kick open on Monday 8 September and run for a month, and feature photo exhibitions, talk shows, pop-up food kitchens, street art, film and comedy.

Join our dedicated and friendly events team and help us make the festival a success!

What we ask for:
We are looking for people who can volunteer on weekdays, as well as evenings and weekends.
We are looking for people who can offer any of the following skills or experience:
• Planning, running and co-ordinating events
• Front of house
• Marketing and publicity
• Social media
• Journalism and blogging
• Art/ design
• Photography
• Video

What we offer:
An opportunity to take part in a cutting-edge project, use your creativity, enhance your skills, meet interesting people and learn about the fascinating work of peacebuilding.

We reimburse lunch expenses of up to £5.00 a day for volunteers working a minimum of four hours per day. Volunteers will also have their travel expenses to and from work reimbursed. Volunteers are encouraged to travel after 9.30 am and to purchase a travel card.

The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
