We are recruiting for an Adviser and an Analyst to work in exciting new roles within our newly-established EU Strategy Team, which sits within the Policy and Steering Division of the International Directorate.

The Team will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Bank's International strategy, and ensuring that the Bank has 'one credible voice in international policy' and will act as the centre of excellence on EU issues'

The Analyst's responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing influencing strategies in a given policy area, or group of policy areas
  • Building and using networks of stakeholders
  • Monitoring and reporting on EU developments

The Adviser's responsibilities will include:

  • Playing a leading role in defining the EU Strategy Team's overall direction, including awareness of broader international trends and cross-cutting issues
  • Developing and implementing influencing strategies in a given policy area, or group of policy areas
  • Building and using networks of stakeholders, including more senior internal and external stakeholders

Essential skills/competencies required for the Analyst position include:

  • Policy expertise in international financial stability and/or regulatory issues
  • Ability to think strategically about influencing, as well as work across multiple fast-moving policy areas
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and develop constructive relationships with internal and external colleagues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Essential skills/competencies required for the Adviser position include:

  • Significant policy expertise in international financial stability and/or regulatory issues
  • Proven ability to think strategically about influencing, including seeing the bigger picture, as well as work across multiple fast-moving policy areas
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and develop constructive relationships with internal and external colleagues and effectively and credibly represent both the EU Strategy Team and Bank itself to more senior stakeholders
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of EU negotiations, possibly including time spent working in the EU institutions
