Rob Wilson MP is seeking to recruit a full-time caseworker to work in his busy Constituency Office in Caversham, Reading.

Main responsibilities:

  • Dealing with constituents' correspondence and progressing casework.
  • Providing information, advice and support to constituents over the phone, face to face or in writing.
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks including arranging meetings, filing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage own caseload, ensuring all cases are logged and updated with any actions, with urgent cases reported to the Member.
  • Organising and attending weekly surgeries and meetings.
  • Organise and execute local communications for the Member of Parliament, including drafting and issuing press releases, email newsletter, managing his website, arranging and co-ordinating local public engagements and taking publicity photographs.

Person specification:

  • The ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence.
  • Commitment to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.

The successful applicant may also be required to work some weekends and evenings.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
