Job Details

LSE Students’ Union is a member-led organisation that represents and supports nearly 10,000 students who make up the driven and diverse student body at the London School of Economics. We provide a wide range of activities, services and representation for our members. We are committed to providing excellent opportunities for our staff to learn new skills and develop existing ones within their roles. We are currently looking to fill one critical role in the Engagement Team.

The Engagement Team is responsible for the Union’s democratic functions such as the elections and works closely with the elected student officers throughout the year. It also facilitates the campaigning activity of the Union and puts on events that meet the needs of our diverse student body.

We have an exciting role in the Engagement Team for a creative, enthusiastic and organised individual, who is passionate about developing a broad programme of exciting and interesting events and making the lives of students better. You will do this by working regularly with and supporting the team of elected student officers to put on events and run campaigns. You will also be responsible for initiating contact with and maintaining relationships with the general student body to coordinate an annual calendar of events, and support their campaigns.

Do you have experience in putting on successful events and running campaigning activity? Are you capable of mobilising, motivating and working with others? Can you use your initiative and think creatively? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to build on this experience in an exciting and challenging environment.

You will need strong communication and people skills to work across teams and to support our elected officers and the wider student body. You will need to be confident in building relationships with students proactively. You will need to be passionate about empowering the diverse student body through campaigning activity, democratic processes, and skills development. You will need to have a high quality of administrative skills, take pride in and ownership of your work and pay close attention to detail in order to balance a number of tasks and projects. This role is suitable for someone with relevant employment or voluntary experience. We are an exciting and dynamic organisation. We believe in our staff and really invest in talented individuals.
