The British Science Association is aiming to facilitate serious but accessible discussions and debates on science’s role in society. You will work with senior leaders in the Association to develop campaigns and influence key decision-makers and stakeholders.

The role will include leading and improving our current programmes such as the Science Communication Conference, Sciencewise and our Media Fellowships scheme. This will include managing Project Officers on specific projects, and working with colleagues from across the organisation. You will also help us, as well as our stakeholders and broader community, develop and advocate distinctive positions on science policy issues as they arise.

We expect that the successful candidate will, over their time with us, use the opportunities afforded by this brand new post to create a distinctive ‘BSA approach’ to science policy issues, which complements the work of our other existing and new programmes.

The successful candidate will be driven by delivering high impact campaigns and empowering the public to have its say on key science issues. We are ideally looking for a candidate with at least 2-3 years’ experience of working in journalism, Parliament, government, a think tank or similar role, who is looking for a new challenge.
