This is the ideal opportunity for a recent graduate looking to make their first step into the world of public affairs. Snapdragon Consulting is a young public affairs company that specialises in property, consultation, business development and corporate social responsibility. We are a close knit team looking for a creative and intelligent graduate with good political knowledge and sense of humour to join us for the next three months. You will get the opportunity to learn about the world of public affairs and help deliver a high-quality service to our clients.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Monitoring Parliamentary and Local Government activity and producing reports on this activity for clients on a regular basis.
  • Conducting research into relevant areas of public policy at both the national and local level, including planning, development and regeneration policy.
  • Developing written materials and briefing notes, proof-reading materials and contributing ideas for creating new content within client accounts.
  • Maintaining the company’s presence on social media, and where applicable, helping to support public events.
  • Researching new business opportunities and monitoring activity within the property industry through national, local and trade press.

Your skills:

We are looking for the following qualities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate creatively and accurately.
  • An interest in current affairs, national politics, local government, planning policy, economic regeneration and trends in SME growth.
  • A self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and work in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, both in terms of your own personal use of time and in terms of organising events, and others around you.
  • A sense of humour coupled with professionalism and integrity.

Additional Experience:

We will look favourably on candidates with:

  • Previous experience, at any level, of working in Parliament, local government or for a political party.
  • A discernible interest or experience in sports development. 
  • Experience of working in an agency environment.

This position will be for an initial 3 month period, and there may be an opportunity to make the position permanent at the end of the internship.
