Mr Raab is looking for a hard-working and motivated Office Manager to work in his Westminster office. The successful applicant will work as part of a small and dedicated team, to ensure the smooth running of the office, provide high level administrative and managerial support.

The position would suit a highly organised person, educated to graduate level, with sound judgement and excellent attention to detail. Strong administrative, organisational, personal, communication and IT skills are essential. Knowledge of Parliament, and its procedures, would be an advantage but not essential. Experience outside politics is valued.

Main duties will include:-
• Overseeing the budget for the office incl, monitoring office expenditure; paying invoices; providing forecast of spend; keeping records of transactions; ensuring Member is kept informed
• To manage Member’s diary, with overall control of Constituency commitments
• To oversee the Casework. Ensuring queries from constituents are dealt with in a sensitive manner; all records are kept or destroyed in accordance with data protection principles
• Ensuring a full range of secretarial & administrative support, incl: telephone and visitor enquiries, responding to email & letters, efficient data & file management
• Dealing with personnel and staffing issues. Ensuring accurate personnel records are kept on employees e.g. up to date contracts & job descriptions, salary details, hours of work. Ensuring that IPSA is notified when necessary
• Recruitment & line management of volunteer
• To liaise on behalf of the Member with relevant groups/personnel at Westminster & within the Constituency, including liaison with outside organisations and the public
• Communicating effectively with both internal and external contacts including liaising with the media locally and nationally
• Competent use of IT incl Microsoft Office & internet to draft correspondence & reports; set up & maintain spreadsheets & undertake research

Candidates should have the following skills & qualities:
• Excellent communication & administrative skills with experience of working in small team
• Literate in Microsoft Office, incl Outlook, Word & Excel
• Ability to manage & prioritise workload with minimum supervision
• Excellent team working ethic
