Job Details

Suffolk Coastal Conservative Association has reorganised its employee structure and is seeking a Campaign Manager whose initial work will be concentrated on the General Election and the elections to Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council, which are being held on the same day in May 2015. The post is on an initial 12 months contract, with an option to extend for a further period.

The key objective required by the Association is the co-ordination of activity to achieve the re-election of the constituency's MP Dr Therese Coffey, to ensure that the Conservatives retain control of Suffolk Coastal District and Waveney District councils, and to work outside the constituency to help the effort in the Ipswich and Waveney seats. To this end, the successful applicant will:

• Work in close co-operation with the MP, the Association Chairman, council leaders and council candidates to draw up a schedule of campaign opportunities in all the new local government wards in the constituency, building on the Chancellor's Autumn Statement and the 2015 Budget
• Lead teams of members to campaign and generally help in the neighbouring seats as part of a concerted mutual aid programme being drawn up for the seven constituencies across Suffolk
• Deliver an effective online campaign using the full range of e-campaigning tools
• Motivate party members and supporters to volunteer in electioneering and canvassing
• Manage volunteer deliveries and door-to-door canvassing
• Manage postal vote recruitment and Get Out the Vote campaigns
• Utilise Central Office campaign tool kits for the printing of bright, image-led leaflets for the General and Local Government election campaigns

The Campaign Manager must:

• Have strong written and communication skills
• Adopt Best Practice within the Conservative Party
• Utilise the party's campaign tool kits
• Be able to work in a team
• Have good IT skills and be skilled in social media
• Share the values of the Conservative Party
• Be a car owner and hold a clean, valid driving licence
