Andrew Griffiths MP is looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Parliamentary Assistant in his Westminster office.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and sending correspondence to constituents and third parties on a wide range of issues
- Maintaining up to date records of correspondence
- Undertaking research and preparing briefings on local, national and international issues, including those of particular interest to the Member
- Assisting the Member and members of staff with other parliamentary duties as and when required
Skills required:
- A high standard of verbal and written communication
- Good telephone manner
- The ability to effectively manage own workload and deliver to tight time scales
- Strong IT skills and in particular in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Experience of working in Parliament is desirable but not essential. Applicants should be sympathetic to the aims of the Conservative Party.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 12th August. The application process will include at least one interview and a written exercise. Interviews are likely to take place in the last week of August and we would be keen for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
