The successful candidate will support the organisations with a range of communications tasks including updating websites, conducting research, supporting meetings and conferences. The role will be divided as follows:
CHEC (16 hours/week)
CHEC works in areas such as sustainable livelihoods, food security, education/health, and human/environment relations to promote these concerns at international levels. The successful candidate will work on environmental, especially in relation to projects in Commonwealth developing countries www.checinternational.org.
- Supporting CHEC to improve its website, making it more interactive and educational, and using it to promote and support understanding and awareness of the relationship between people and the environment in which they live
- Writing and improving publicity materials
- Potential for working alongside some Commonwealth Ministerial meetings
CCfE (8 hours/week)
CCfE is an umbrella organisation representing NGOs and Commonwealth Organisations working in Education in the Commonwealth. Day to day work is focussed on information provision, research, workshops and facilitating coordination between education stakeholders. We also lobby Commonwealth governments and IGOs to ensure Education retains a prominent place in policy making and Commonwealth activities www.commonwealtheducation.org.
The successful candidate will:
- Support the day to day administrative and communication tasks
- Support the delivery of CCfE’s grant commitments including reviewing and rebuilding our website; digitising our quarterly education calendar and directory; conducting a scoping exercise on Commonwealth Education activities
- Update the education calendar and website
- Support and project management of website rebuild
- Work with CCfE’s management team to support scoping exercise data collection
- Prepare papers and agendas for CCfE meetings and take minutes
- Support preparation for conferences and workshops
The two organisations are looking for candidates with:
- experience of maintaining websites and social media platforms
- research and administrative experience
- an interest in international development, environmental or education issues, working on international projects and building relationships with Commonwealth organisations
