Job Details

The Henry Jackson Society is a leading British foreign policy think-tank supporting transatlantic relations, a robust international security policy and the fight for democracy, liberty and human rights worldwide as a central focus for British, US and European foreign policy.

We are currently offering a part-time (3 days a week) Events Assistant internship role. The events intern will assist HJS’s Events Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation’s events in Parliament, contributing essential assistance throughout the many stages of successful event organisation. He or she will be tasked with crafting invitations for both potential speakers as well as the audience, managing RSVP lists, liaising with venues, reaching out to our patrons and partners in Westminster, and taking an active role during the events.

We are looking for motivated self-starters who are capable of acting independently and who possess the capacity to absorb and execute instructions quickly in a busy environment. The right candidate will not be fazed by the challenges encountered in a highly demanding work environment, but thrive on the fast-paced nature of this role. He or she will have an excellent command of the English language, a quick and creative mind, an eye for detail and contempt for mediocrity. A confident yet amicable manner of communicating is a must.

In return you will get a full immersion in the British IR world as well as the opportunity to experience the daily life of the most dynamic organisations in the British think-tank environment. By putting on nearly a hundred events a year with some of the world’s most renowned policy, international relations and political figures, the Henry Jackson Society events schedule is considered one of the best in Westminster. The Events internship role will offer you the chance to contribute to achieving this success.
