This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre graduate wanting to develop a career in fundraising, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. It requires a self-starting individual with a willingness and capacity to learn quickly and a passion for the work of charities and social enterprises.
This role will provide hands-on, practical experience and development of skills needed for fundraising, across a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will gain experience in the following areas:
• Trust and foundations identification, research and application writing;
• Corporate Sponsorship prospecting, research and proposal development;
• Idea generation and formulation;
• Development of programmes and campaigns;
• Development of social media and writing skills through writing for www.cause4opinion.co.uk
• Office management;
• Working as part of a young team in a fast moving environment.
Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
• IT literate;
• A thorough approach to research and exceptional attention to detail;
• Outwardly focussed and interested in new developments and sector trends, able to relate how changes in different arenas can work to the benefit of the organisation;
• Essential personal qualities – strong ‘completer-finisher’, highly developed communication skills (oral and written) conscientious, positive ‘can-do’ attitude, team player though able to work independently and passionate about the work of charities;
• Experience of working in an office environment;
• Experience of working in a team or a small charity or company is desirable;
• Experience of fundraising on some level is desirable though not essential.
