Background and job purpose
The Start Up Loans Company, chaired by entrepreneur James Caan, is a Government-backed initiative tasked to stimulate enterprise across the country.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure in a high-profile organisation. We are looking for an individual with some proven experience in events management.

Key responsibilities
Working with the Strategy and Outcomes team, your role will include:
· Supporting the hosting and organising of training events available to over 20,000 Start Up Loan recipients;
· Travelling to different locations in the UK supporting the training events;
· Researching markets to identify opportunities for events;
· Producing detailed proposals for events (eg, timelines, venues, suppliers, and budgets);
· Securing and booking suitable venues for events around the UK;
· Representing Start Up Loans and presenting where required at events;
· Evaluating feedback and reporting as necessary.

General Strategy and Outcomes work will include:
· Work as part of the team to ensure aims are met;
· Support the collection of data for reporting on training events and up-skilling of loan recipients each month;
· Act as an ambassador for the Start Up Loans Company presenting a positive attitude to all partners;
· Work collaboratively with other members of the Strategy and Outcomes Team to ensure workload is managed efficiently;
· Undertake other tasks as directed by the line manager.

Knowledge and experience
· Previous experience planning and hosting events and workshops
· Strong skills in negotiating, relationship building, problem solving, and timely problem escalation
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent time management and organisational skills
· Strong IT skills, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
