1. Publishing

The BBA create, commission, produce and distribute a wide variety of publications and online content. These publications are aimed at promoting the goals and key priorities of the association and its members, communicating key policy messages and generating revenue to contribute to the operational costs of the organisation via BBA Enterprises Ltd (BBAE). A key focus of the role is to provide editorial, commissioning and quality control across this range of publications.

2. Communications support

The Publications Executive will also provide support to the BBA’s communications team in interacting with journalists, dealing with reactive queries and pushing out key messages to the media which promote the goals and policies of the organisation and its members.

3. Main duties

Commission and manage all BBA print and online publications. Ensure editorial standards are met and maintained in print and online. Provide editorial support in the creation, publication and distribution of all BBA external communications. Seek proactive opportunities using publications to promote the BBA and its work. Lead on the creation of copy for publications and to edit all externally sourced content and copy. Market BBA publications. Work proactively and collaboratively with the Strategy Advisor and BBAE Publications and Marketing Manager. Contribute further to the work of BBAE by identifying, commissioning and developing new commercial publications. Police house style and manage the BBA brand and its external licensing. Support the Media Relations team in answering calls from the media, providing comments to the media, arranging media bids and drafting press releases, administration of communication committees Provide out of hours media service as part of a rota system

Qualifications/education required:

Degree or equivalent
Experience required
Proven substantial experience of working in a publishing environment

Management of:
