Contract length – until August 2015.

The London Borough of Brent Labour Group is looking to recruit a full-time organiser to facilitate its continued campaign work and build on the results achieved in the London elections in May 2014 – an increase in Labour councillors from 40 to 56.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the organisation of all campaigning in the borough. It is expected that he/she will work closely with all 56 Labour councillors and specifically in Brent Central which is a key seat for the upcoming General Election.

The nature of the role will vary according to political and campaigning priorities. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and able to work independently, while being flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Applicants should also have a good knowledge of Labour Party campaigning techniques and a proven ability in the following areas:

Organising campaigning activity and events with the Labour Party and partners
Motivating groups of volunteers and workers
Excellent written and communication skills
Excellent IT skills including experience of Desktop Publishing; specifically Adobe InDesign
Experience of website management, including managing social media presence such as Twitter and Facebook
Experience of using a Risograph
Working to deadlines and in a pressured environment
Organising own workload
An understanding and commitment to Labour Party values
