About us

The Local Government Association speaks with one voice on behalf of local government in England and Wales. Made up of elected representatives from all the different political parties, we aim to set the political agenda and have our say in the national media on the issues that matter to council members. There has never been a more exciting time to work for us.

The role

Using your exceptional portfolio of skills and expertise you’ll be responsible for the programme management of work to support data sharing across health and social care. In order to maximise engagement and reach across the network you’ll work closely with a variety of partners in ADASS Information Management Group (IMG), Department of Health, the Local Chief Information Officer Council, SOCITM and the Health and Social Care Information Centre.

Your role will see you providing full and effective programme management support to the Health and Care Informatics project, including programme management, scheduling, reporting, risks and issues management and mitigation, and ensuring strong governance.

Your success will be determined by your ability to ensure that the Pioneer project outputs are reusable and have visibility across the sector, as well as managing the governance framework around data sharing for health and care, ensuring clear accountability for actions and direction. Working collaboratively with regional and national colleagues will be essential as you share findings and seek solutions to the issues identified.

The requirements

You’ll already have a portfolio of exceptional skills and experiences, but to join us we look for a few things in particular. Naturally you’ll need a good understanding of the issues that surround data sharing and health and social care. But you’ll also need to have a good understanding of data governance within health and social care and the private providers in this area.

Educated to degree level or equivalent you’ll need to be able to hit the ground running, using your abilities and independence to solve complex problems and seek consensus and shared deliverables.

We value diversity and encourage applications from all sections of the community.

Closing Date: 25 August 2014
