Based in Parliament, the Parliamentary Support Team (PST) is a pooled research facility working for Liberal Democrat MPs. The PST provides information, research, briefings and standard letters for its subscribers in support of their parliamentary duties.

We are looking to recruit a new Deputy Head for the team, to assist in its running and develop its output in the last year of the Parliament. This position would suit a dynamic, highly-organised individual with sound political judgement and who thrives in a fast-paced and often pressured environment. The successful applicant will have:

• At least a year’s experience working in Parliament or in a similar field
• Sound political judgement and ability to use their initiative to produce appropriate briefing
• Strong written, verbal, research, people and IT skills
• An ability to build and maintain contacts and relationships with MPs, their staff, special advisers and others

Key duties include:

• Deputising for the Head of the PST as required
• Day-to-day management and supervision of the office and Parliamentary Support Officers
• Reacting quickly to members requests and ensuring the Service Level Agreement is delivered
• Writing and researching a range of material in across several policy portfolios
• Contribute to and expand the range of PST-produced material for subscribers
