NLGN is an independent think tank and collaborative network of leading edge local authorities and dynamic private sector thinkers. We connect members of the network to each other through our high level events programme and creative research work.

NLGN’s research is designed to set the terms of debate for the big conversations across the local public sector, fuelling creative and productive debates amongst our network. Our internship lies within the research programme and is designed for candidates to gain experience of the think-tank environment and contribute to applied research and policy-making. Ideally, we are looking for graduates with a background in or demonstrable aptitude for policy research and an interest in contributing to innovative policy solutions. Our internships are primarily research based and give a unique and valuable insight into policy making and rigorous research methodologies.

A key project for Autumn 2014 is on local government and housing. We will be considering how new models of partnership between councils, housing associations and health can deliver social value and better outcomes in health and social care. We welcome applications from candidates with experience or a strong interest in this area.
