An exciting opportunity within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has arisen for a Government Engagement Officer to join the organisation.

The Government Engagement Officer will support the Government Engagement Manager in maintaining the accountability and transparency of information to Government Departments and Parliament. The successful candidate will work to identify and support opportunities for collegiate working and effective information exchanges, including keeping Government Departments and Parliament informed of the implementation of CQC’s strategy. This will also include ensuring the CQC is kept informed of relevant developments across Government Departments.

In addition, you will be accountable for supporting the Government Engagement Manager in managing CQC’s responses to Parliamentary Questions, ensuring responses are accurate, helpful, timely, and consistent, of a high quality and are logged appropriately. You will also be accountable for providing briefing support for colleagues which reflects appropriate consultation with the wider organisation.

We are looking for an individual with exceptional experience of working in government relations or communications and experience in health or social care or on regulatory issues would be beneficial.

Your ability to manage relationships and collaborate effectively is also crucial for this role.
