Annette Brooke MP is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working intern to work Tuesdays to Thursdays in her busy Westminster Office.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, and be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Sympathy with the aims and policies of the Liberal Democrats is desirable.
Tasks may include:
- Drafting correspondence to MPs, Government Departments and constituents;
- Drafting press releases;
- Conducting research and preparing briefings;
- Liaising with Annette's constituency office, and other MPs' offices;
- General office administration.
We will attempt to ensure that the successful candidate has a full opportunity to learn about the work of Parliament.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
