Job Details

Background

Oxfam has adopted an ambitious new resource mobilisation strategy that seeks to grow income by 10% by 2015 and leverage impact through more strategic donor partnerships. One of the key pillars of our new strategy is to increase our investment in mobilising resources for long-term development, advocacy, and campaigning programmes, which currently account for less than 30% of our total income from institutional donors. To achieve our vision of a more balanced income portfolio, Oxfam has created a new team of donor account managers to facilitate partnership development and to generate more predictable income for our international programmes.

Oxfam seeks to appoint a Partnership Manager in the Programme Funding Department who will be responsible for growing income and building partnerships with the UK Government with a primary focus on the Department for International Development (DFID). The current portfolio has an annual financial value of more than £30m GBP.

Job Purpose

The Partnership Manager will lead our strategic engagement with the UK Government on both humanitarian and long-term development cooperation.

To achieve our ambitions, the Partnership Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a new business development strategy in order to forge strategic partnerships between Oxfam and the UK government, and identify new funding opportunities. The incumbent will be expected to work within Oxfam GB and across the confederation of OI affiliates in achieving the strategy.

The location of this job will be in Oxford and will involve regular travel to London as well as some travel to country programmes outside of the United Kingdom equivalent to approximately 6-8 weeks per annum.

Closing Date: 8 September 2014
