Peter Bone MP FCA is recruiting a Parliamentary Assistant to work in his Westminster Office.
The ideal candidate will have impressive written communication skills, be able to manage competing priorities, and work well under pressure within a very fast-paced environment. He or she will be impeccably organised with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with Members of Parliament, Party members and the wider public.
To succeed in this role you will need to be self-motivated, conscientious, and an all-round hands-on team player. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, purposeful sense of initiative, and precise attention to detail. A good sense of humour is an advantage.
Previous Parliamentary or Conservative Party experience would be strongly desirable, and the ability to demonstrate excellent political judgement is essential. Experience with IPSA and CMITs also desirable.
Key responsibilities:
• Respond effectively and courteously to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents and various local and national organisations.
• Provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Westminster Office.
• Draft a range of documents including press releases and articles with a particular focus on local issues.
• Liaise with relevant groups/personnel in Westminster and the Constituency, and answering Westminster based telephone enquiries.
• Other duties as directed.
