The Welsh Conservatives are looking for a media intern to assist with the day-to-day running of the press office.

Good organisational skills, a keen news sense and the ability to write quickly and accurately are essential.

The role will involve monitoring a range of news outlets, answering queries from journalists and generating ideas for stories to pitch.

A good telephone manner is important as is the ability to work as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be self-motivated
• Have excellent attention-to-detail
• Be IT literate
• Have knowledge of, and sympathy for, the aims and policies of the Conservative Party
