Ellwood Atfield is recruiting the next Policy Officer for this new infrastructure trade association where you will cover issues across energy, waste, transport and planning. You will get the chance to work with a range of companies, politicians and departments to influence the political arena and to build the case for measures to help the industry and the environment.

You will be:
· Monitoring Government, Parliament and the media for relevant information;
· Supporting policy development by managing member groups, liaising with members and maintaining a good relationship with external stakeholders;
· Contributing directly to policy development by writing policy statements and developing positions;
· Representing the organisation at external events and with government;
· Writing and contributing to briefing notes and articles on various topics.

You will:
· Have good experience of working in Parliament, public affairs or policy development;
· Excellent intellectual rigor and an interest in developing strong researched briefs;
· Be able to demonstrate high quality written and oral communication skills;
· Have experience of dealing with high profile stakeholders.

Knowledge of infrastructure is an advantage but not necessary. Experience of managing projects or areas of work would also be advantageous. The job is based in the heart of London, and some travel is likely to be required.
