Reporting into the Chief of Staff/Head of Governance, the Governance Policy Adviser is responsible for the tactical delivery of all operational and policy governance mechanisms across the organisation. This means supporting the strategic direction-setting of the core policy governance bodies (President's Committee and Chair's Committee) and taking responsibility for the tactical elements required to deliver them.

The Governance Policy Adviser is responsible for driving the information to support the organisation's core operational governance body (Management Board) ensuring that metrics are fit-for-purpose and timely, papers are collated and circulated, and actions are robustly tracked.

The Governance Policy Adviser is also responsible for the delivery of the internal communications programme across the organisation and providing overall support to the Chief of Staff/Head of Governance.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Experience in a policy, research or stakeholder engagement role
• Understanding of effective corporate governance - experience of application of this is desirable, but not essential - more important is an appetite to learn how this applies to the organisation
• Ability to think strategically about whether the organisations structure and processes comply with governance requirements
• Awareness of the broad policy and political context (in the UK and internationally)
