Time commitment: 2/3 days per week, approximately 3 months, flexible working available 

Purpose:

To support the End Water Poverty (EWP) international secretariat in the planning, and implementation of two campaigns, Keep Your Promises, focused on the human right to water and sanitation, and World Walks for Water and Sanitation, an international mobilisation with a human right to water and sanitation theme. EWP is a 270+ member campaign coalition – the biggest in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector - hosted by WaterAid.

Tasks:

1. For World Walks for Water and Sanitation: assisting in developing campaign materials and messaging, including via social networking sites, and communicating with member and partner civil society groups in Asia, Africa and Latin America on advocacy strategies, to gather information on and provide support for campaigns.

2. For Keep Your Promises: monitoring implementation of the campaign among members, especially around campaign materials, and supporting and communicating with members on national advocacy plans.

3. Providing administrative support to all campaigns and other workstreams (e.g., the Sustainable Development Goal process), including writing communications such as newsletter content, blog posts and web content.

4. Depending on the skills of the intern, there may be opportunities to engage in policy analysis and writing other communications products for publication.

Experience

• Communications, including social media
• Using MS Office
• Knowledge of using social media for influencing

• Proven interest in and knowledge of international development, interest in campaigning (essential)
• Commitment to working to improve the lives of others (essential)
• Proven interest in and/or knowledge of human rights (desirable)
• French language ability (desirable)
• Knowledge/ideas of what makes a good campaign (desirable)
• Experience of/interest in coalition work (desirable)
