Job Details

Mark Hunter MP and Cheadle Constituency Liberal Democrats are looking for a Volunteer & Infrastructure Building Organiser to join the hardworking and very successful local team. You will be responsible for helping to drive forward future identification, recruitment, training, and see the growth of our membership and volunteers to help us achieve our campaign plan for 2015.

This is a constituency-based campaigning role that will require both strong teamwork and the ability to work unsupervised.

Cheadle Constituency, within easy access of Manchester and neighbouring the Lib Dem seats of Manchester Withington and Hazel Grove, is a Lib Dem/Conservative marginal with a history of success.

Mark Hunter MP is leading the campaign for the much needed second phase of the A555 Relief Road, and fighting against the very unpopular Nuisance Sales Calls, just two of the many issues he is busy with locally.

As a member of the core campaign team you will be an integral part of ensuring Mark and our Councillors have a successful and exciting 2015 election.

Do you want to be part of our winning team?

Key roles and responsibilities:
1. To coordinate and drive the identification, recruitment, training, development, motivation and retention of members and volunteers to mutually agreed targets
2. To oversee the organisation of volunteers to deliver the constituency campaign plan.
3. To ensure the delivery of a programme of doorstep and telephone voter contact to mutually agreed targets.
4. To ensure the delivery of an effective online campaign using the full range of e-campaigning tools.
5. To advise the line manager, as appropriate, on organisational, communication and/or maintenance priorities which may benefit the smooth running of the campaign.
6. To undertake such training as is recommended to develop and update required skills.
7. To undertake such other duties as the line manger may require to further effective communication, campaigning and organisation in the constituency.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
