Job Title: Policy Researcher

Working For: Citizens Advice

Location: London

Salary: £25,848 + London weighting

Length of Contract:

Job Details

Last year, Citizens Advice led a major investment in our policy research and campaigns teams to bring our insight into people’s real lives and experience to the public and political debate. With our vast network of Citizens Advice Bureaux operating across England and Wales and online, we see first-hand the issues people face and use this insight and national reach to influence policy and campaign for change.

Now we’re looking for a Policy Researcher to join our growing team to take forward a new programme of work around Citizens and Democracy. As a historic civil society network, seeing millions of people every year, we are exactly the right organisation to lead debate and action on these issues, bringing our understanding of people’s real lives and behaviours to reconnect people to power and challenge injustice.

Our plans for the next few months include leading a major new research project exploring access to power beyond the ballot box, research on the characteristics of domestic abuse to shape a major new campaign, and strategic research to consider how advice helps people to feel in control, facilitate local social action and broker access to decision-makers - particularly for those at risk of disenfranchisement or social isolation.

This is an exciting role for an ambitious, creative researcher who wants to help shape a new direction for policy at Citizens Advice. At our best, we are a barometer for policymakers, with access to almost real-time evidence of the problems facing the country. We understand real people and the impact of poor decision-making on people’s day to day lives, and want to design and test new solutions that help people move forward.

If this is you, please see further details at http://t.co/QCG4NeNHlF.
