Will have good written communication skills, be able to manage competing priorities, and work well under pressure within a very fast-paced environment. He or she will be impeccably organised with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with Members of Parliament and the wider public.

Will need to be self-motivated, conscientious, and an all-round hands-on team player. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, purposeful sense of initiative, and precise attention to detail. A good sense of humour is an advantage.

Previous Parliamentary or Conservative Party experience would be strongly desirable, and the ability to demonstrate excellent political judgement is essential.

Key responsibilities:
• Respond effectively and courteously to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents and various local and national organisations.
• Provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Westminster Office.
• Draft a range of documents including press releases and articles with a particular focus on local issues.
• Liaise with relevant groups/personnel in Westminster and the Constituency, and answering Westminster based telephone enquiries.
• Other duties as directed.
