The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) – a high-profile national body representing the interests of 52 accredited Chambers across the United Kingdom – seeks to recruit a Projects Intern for a full-time, six month internship. The post-holder will gain experience in project/programme management, event co-ordination, CRM databases, processes and governance with the opportunity to get involved in a number of different projects. The post-holder will also assist with a programme to assess and accredit a number of Overseas Business Networks (OBNs) in high growth markets around the world.

The post will be based at the BCC’s offices in St James’s Park, Westminster.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the successful candidate will provide the following support across the organisation:

  • Logistical support for a range of BCC events and meetings including organising promotional material, booking venues, and preparing delegate packs.
  • Track event attendance on our CRM database, collate and send board and meeting papers. Take minutes at some meetings.
  • Review, improve and update the BCC’s CRM system.
  • Assist with programme management activity for the Overseas Business Networks initiative to include updating programme documents and developing the OBNi pages on the intranet.
  • Provide support to UK and Overseas Business organisations as they move through BCC’s accreditation process including preparing assessment briefings, issuing certificates and letters, tracking issues and processing invoices.
  • Further develop the BCC and Chamber Network intranet in order to ensure that content is relevant and up to date.
  • Provide administrative support across the BCC, including help answering the phones on BCC’s reception desk, franking post, helping with internal meetings and ordering supplies.

Desirable qualities

  • Events experience
  • Experience using CRM database
