Job Details

The role of the case study volunteer is to speak to people affected by Parkinson's and capture their experiences which we will use in our campaigns and media work to influence key policy and decision-makers.

The volunteer will support the policy and service improvement team by collecting real life stories that will enhance our work and demonstrate how the Government can practically improve the lives of people affected by Parkinson's including their families and carers.

We are looking for someone who has empathy along with an awareness of Parkinson's and how people are affected by the condition.  They should have excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, being able to probe for more information and being able to summarise information concisely.  They should be interested in policy/media and how people's stories inform our work.  We would also like someone with good telephone and computer skills (email and database).

The case study volunteer will get experience of capturing and presenting someone's experiences and will be a part of our work to improve services and the lives of people affected by Parkinson's.

The volunteer will be provided with information on our current campaigns and policy work, training on what makes a good case study and interviewing people and on using the database.

The role is for one day a week and we are flexible about which day.
