Job Details

Would you like to make a difference within Dementia Research? Would you like the opportunity to help people with dementia and their carers - talking directly with them on the phone? We are looking for volunteers to be a part of a new and exciting service.

The National Institute of Health Research is developing a new database called 'Join Dementia Research' (Join) - aimed at encouraging more people to take part in dementia research. Alzheimer's Society is supporting the development and delivery of Join and we are currently recruiting volunteers to provide a telephone helpdesk service which will register members of the public on the database, as well as respond to more general enquiries about Join and dementia research.

This is an interesting role that will enable you to develop your skills and gain valuable experience within a National Charity. You will be working either in our London office (near Tower Hill, London E1W) or from home for the majority of time. You will need to attend training and support meetings in our Tower Hill office in London and commit to volunteering at least one day a week, ideally for a period of at least one year. The service will operate Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

If you have an interest in dementia; are you a good listener and are able to communicate clearly - we would love to hear from you.

We hope to appoint a number of new volunteers immediately - so if interested please contact us as soon as possible.

W4MP Note:
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
