Job Details

A project of the independent think-tank the Henry Jackson Society, Student Rights is a non-partisan group dedicated to supporting equality, democracy and freedom from extremism on university campuses. It monitors extremism and intolerance from a range of different sources including fascist groups and Islamist elements on campuses, and works to challenge the risk of radicalisation occurring on university campuses.

We are currently looking for a part-time (3 days a week) Research Assistant, with applicants ideally willing to commit to a period of at least 3 months in duration. The successful candidate will be involved in every aspect of our work – including research, writing, media liaison, publications, and administration – and will be given responsibility for specific projects as well as being expected to provide general assistance.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is capable of acting independently and who possesses the capacity to absorb and execute instructions quickly in a busy environment. Experience of research, either academically or professionally, is required, and knowledge of domestic extremism issues is desirable. A clear writing style is vital, while sympathy with our principles is expected.
