Job Details

The Communications Team at the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) work to represent the 62,000 professionals working in PR, Communications and Public Affairs. Our membership ranges from large communications firms to well-known charities.

We are looking to recruit a Communications and Research Intern keen to make the most of working in a dynamic trade association team. This internship will run until the end of April, with the possibility of extension.

It will be built around our annual Consultancy Benchmarking research project. Given this, we are looking for a committed candidate who can take ownership from the planning stage until the briefing event.

• Overhaul PRCA’s data to create tailored lists for a range of different areas to improve participation.
• Innovate and revitalise how we conduct the research.
• Work across the other teams as the day-to-day contact on the project, ensuring the project can be pushed out across all channels.
• Work with our external research company to ensure all deadlines are being met and problems are handled promptly.

Communications duties
• Monitoring media on a frequent basis.
• Drafting and “selling in” press releases.
• Assist with the general Public Affairs work of the organisations, including our regular contact with those members, handling the industry group, working to expand our Public Affairs Register and ad hoc briefing/reactions.
• Assist with the planning of both political events and industry events.

This position would suit a graduate, post-graduate or Level 4 Apprenticeship holder who is looking to have ownership over a research project and learn more about PR, Public Affairs and Communications.

We value diversity and appoint on merit.
