The Labour Group of the National Assembly for Wales is seeking to appoint a temporary Assistant to the Chief Whip & Policy Officer to cover maternity leave within the office between late March and late December 2015. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the work of Labour’s Assembly Members.
Specifically, the post holder will:
- Assist the Chief Whip in co-ordinating the presence and work of Labour Members, both within the Assembly and outside.
- Take responsibility for briefing and advising the Labour Group on a number of identified policy areas and for monitoring policy developments in these areas.
- Deal with a wide variety of day-to-day enquiries.
- Administer key aspects of the work of the office and take responsibility for the management of shared IT storage within the Labour Group.
- Assist with the distribution of information within the Group and to members of the public.
