Drive Forward Foundation is a CSJ-award-winning charity that guides young people leaving the care system into the world of work. The charity is geared towards addressing the unique and serious needs of care leavers. Through intensive one-to-one support and employability training programmes, Drive Forward seeks to improve the independence, self-confidence and work readiness of one of the UK’s most neglected and underachieving social groups. Enjoying a diverse range of fantastic relationships with over thirty corporate partners (including Lloyds Retail Bank, Squire Patton Boggs law firm American Express and many others), the charity works with these companies to develop a range of opportunities (internships, work experiences) to open up to its clients.

The Corporate Engagement intern will report primarily to the Head of Corporate Engagement and the Director of the charity. This individual will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including: research (sector/company specific, CSR, PR), liaising with corporates and young people, events organisation, volunteer coordination, building up a valuable ‘BLACK BOOK’ of corporate contacts, administration, strategy and collaborating with Drive Forward’s employment consultants. Networking events will also be made available to the intern. Candidate will also have the opportunity to take the lead on a new regular ‘Corporate Newsletter’ and the launching of a 'CSR Breakfast Seminar Event'. In this role, the intern will benefit from training sessions run by Drive Forward for its staff, which in the past have covered areas such as ‘Brain Development and Impact of Trauma and Stress on Children’.

Person Specification
Candidate must be a creative thinker with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), as they will be responsible for maintaining important and complex relationships. In particular, a high standard of written English is imperative. Good time-management and ability to prioritise and re-prioritise tasks is crucial. Experience working with vulnerable young people is desirable but not required.
