Principal responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead and implement the South East England communications plan in partnership with agencies and colleagues
  • Lead on communicating positive news about McDonald’s across the South East through traditional PR activity and online influencer engagement. Will also involve managing dedicated agency support to assist in this area
  • Maintain good working relationship with the franchisee community, supporting them from a communications perspective in the delivery of their business plan including stakeholder and media engagement
  • Work closely with the Media team to investigate and respond to enquiries on a wide range of issues
  • Lead the work of the Regional Communications team in the delivery of projects and campaigns. This work will require the owner to develop strategy, engage all relevant agencies, take full responsibility to communicate with internal audiences and deliver against KPIs
  • Support the company’s business strategies including growth plans, with communications support and local engagement strategies for new restaurant applications, openings and extended hours licensing applications.
  • On-call national press officer duties

Experience:

As this position is broad, we are looking for an individual who ideally has an all rounded communications background who enjoys variety within their role.

  • Direct experience of working as part of either a Public Relations and/or a Public Affairs team; engaging with media and/or elected representatives
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey messages to different groups of people by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and nature of the information involved
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working on multi-agency, cross departmental projects as well as on individual projects

Interview/Start Dates

1st interviews will take place across Mon 13th and Tues 14th June. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to a 2nd and final interview on Tues 21st or Weds 22nd. This will involve the preparation and submission a written task ahead of the 2nd interview.
