Stakeholder Democracy Network is looking for an intern to join our team in our London office.

Our mission is to support the efforts of those affected by extractive industries and weak governance through rights based community empowerment. We work in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. We are currently looking for a dynamic intern to assist our London team as a Research Intern on a part-time voluntary basis for three months (days and hours of work can be flexible but a minimum of two-days per week is desirable). Lunch and travel expenses are reimbursed. The key tasks will be to conduct research and assist with writing and editing project case studies and reports in the areas ranging from governance, peacebuilding, security to international development and environment.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable interest and knowledge in one or more of the above areas and in research processes and enjoy writing. The role is ideal for someone wishing to gain broad experience of working in a dynamic charity, and enhance their knowledge of issues created by extractive industries and weak governance in the Niger Delta.

For this role, flexibility, commitment, initiative and the ability to work in a small team are also important. Excellent computer skills are also required. Candidates with a postgraduate-level degree (or those currently undertaking studies) will be given preference.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on Thursday 9th June 2016. A short written exercise will be requested before the interview. The candidate should ideally be available to commence work the week commencing 20th June 2016.
