Job Details

Do you want to add your voice to the development debate? Write for the Development in Action (DiA) blog.

Development in Action is a youth and volunteer-led NGO based in the UK, working to promote global citizenship through our India and UK volunteering programmes, including a summer placement scheme and global citizenship workshops.

Our blog is an online community of budding journalists, students and early-career development professionals dedicated to the discussion of global issues. Through it we hope to engage young people in global issues and promote global citizenship.

Whether an article, interview, book-review or infographic, if you have an interesting perspective to share, we’re interested in hearing from you! You get the opportunity to work with an editor, share your ideas and expose your work to a 1500+ readership.

We are looking for quality over quantity and for experienced writers with a keen interest in development and global citizenship.

We are looking for two types of contributors

1) Regular contributors.
We expect a minimum commitment of one blog a month which can take any of the forms we mentioned above. We will have a ‘regular contributor’ section with a picture of you and a brief bio which is a great way to get yourself some publicity!

2) Part-time contributors
We are always on the look out for people with passion and if you have a desire to write about any issue close to your heart but cannot commit to our regular contributor programme then this is the opportunity for you.

W4MP Note:
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
