We're looking for 3 keen, committed and politically-motivated interns to join our Policy & Information Directorate. Roles are available in Policy Development, Prevention and Public Affairs & Campaigning.

Policy Development
Contribute to our high-achieving Policy Development team while gaining experience across all areas of our work.

You'll be:
• Assisting on a project to understand patients’ views on travel to treatment centres by collaborating with our Patient Involvement team to hold focus groups with cancer survivors.
• Continuing to monitor the implementation of the cancer strategy in England and looking at innovative ways to communicate this to stakeholders
• Supporting our work influencing the NHS in England and the devolved nations

Prevention Policy
We're looking for an individual with a strong interest in policy research and cancer prevention and a keenness to develop their skills in a range of research methodologies.

 You'll be:
• Assisting in the development of 2 online surveys based on qualitative data taken from focus groups held with youths, exploring their perceptions of obesity and alcohol
• Carrying out a literature review to find out data being collected by other youth surveys
• Liaising with researchers to gain advice and soundcheck the survey throughout its development

Public Affairs & Campaigning
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to support our Party Conferences programme and 3 public campaigns.

 You'll be:
• Assisting the Westminster, Local and EU Public Affairs team with materials and logistics for Party Conferences.
• Supporting with the second phase of the Big Tobacco Cough Up campaign, the continuation of the Junk Free TV campaign, and a paediatric cancer campaign in the EU.
• Helping the Local Public Affairs team with research into local Stop Smoking Services, in connection to our Big Tobacco Cough Up campaign

Time Commitment
We would like someone who can commit to 3-4 days a week for 12 weeks, but this is flexible and this can be discussed at interview.
