Crisis is recruiting for a Policy and Public Affairs Manager to oversee the successful planning and delivery of projects across the policy team and to ensure there is an effective public affairs strategy that achieves key policy and influencing objectives across Parliament and relevant central and local government departments.

As Policy and Public Affairs Manager you will lead the development and delivery of Crisis’ policy and public affairs work. This will include ensuring that Crisis’ influencing work is informed by expert policy analysis based on issues that affect single homeless people. You will be expected to expand the political reputation and influence of Crisis amongst politicians and key decision makers.

To be successful in this role you will need to build and maintain effective working relationships with Crisis staff, including with client services staff, with the research and communication teams at HQ and with policy teams in the devolved nations. In doing so you will be ensure the successful delivery of a coherent programme of policy work that is underpinned by evidence based solutions and is both proactive and reactive.

You will require demonstrable experience of designing and delivering proactive policy projects and public affairs strategies that achieve change. With strong political understanding and knowledge, including the parliamentary process and decision making processes within local and central government, you will have the ability to identify emerging new thinking and policy agendas. A proven ability to manage a high performing team and a track record of successfully working with and influencing MPs, Ministers and senior civil servants will support your delivery of results.
