We require an enthusiastic and committed Development Intern. Interns will fulfil a range of roles, gaining an in-depth insight into the workings of the charity. As part of the development team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that we raise the money that funds our mission. We have recently expanded the IEA which means there are exciting projects to fundraise for as well as nurture and build our core income which supports the ongoing running of the IEA.

We are delighted to provide you with educational opportunities, meaningful skills training, one-on-one mentoring and valuable connections to help you succeed in future endeavours.

Duties will include:
• identifying and researching potential corporate and high net worth supporters who might be interested in the IEA’s work.
• compiling briefings in preparation for fundraising meetings.
• assist with the organisation of small fundraising dinners.
• assist in the compilation of short updates for donors.
• updating the IEA’s in house database.
• filing and administration.

Person specification:
• a proactive, can-do attitude
• an interest/understanding of fundraising which is transferable into a wide number of industries
• good communication, writing and research skills
• confidence using Office applications, ie Word and Excel
• experience of using databases (desirable but not essential)
• unwavering attention to detail

There is some flexibility in the internship's start date and working arrangements, but it is a part-time role and will last approximately 3 months (with the possibility of extension).
Some travel expenses will be covered.
The internship can be negotiated for any period of at least three months and between 2 - 4 days per week.
