Job Details

Who we are
Peer-to-peer lending involves direct matching of funds between investors and borrowers through an online platform. The Peer-to-Peer Finance Association, founded in 2011 as a self-regulatory body to promote high standards of conduct and consumer protection, has represented this fast-growing and rapidly-evolving component of the alternative finance sector, which has lent more than £5.8bn since 2010.

The Association seeks to secure public policy, regulatory and fiscal conditions to enable UK-based peer-to-peer lending platforms to compete fairly and grow responsibly; to ensure that member platforms demonstrate high standards of business conduct, including leadership and the promotion of confidence in the sector; and to raise awareness and understanding of the benefits and risks of peer-to-peer finance.

The Role:
A Policy Assistant is required on a part-time, self-employed basis for between two and three days per week. The candidate must be able to work remotely and be available for frequent meetings in London.

Duties will include:
• working closely to support the work of the Association’s Board, the Chair and the Director of Policy & Communications;
• collection and analysis of sectoral data, as well as interrogation for trends and underlying factors;
• co-ordinating and undertaking member compliance assessments;
• initial analysis and appraisal for candidates for membership of the Association;
• first point of contact for general enquiries;
• management of the Association's website.

Closing Date: 8 September 2016
