This job is located in Islington, London.

This is an exciting opportunity to support The National Autistic Society's highly successful policy, campaigns and public affairs work. In April 2016, we launched our biggest ever campaign to improve public understanding of autism, Too Much Information. Our campaign launch film was viewed 56 million times, and we have already seen a 16% shift in public understanding of autism. We are now moving into our next phase of the campaign, which will be taking a more political focus.

Principal accountabilities:
• Support the Policy & Campaigns team in its policy and public affairs work, including writing briefings for political audiences
• Support Policy, Public Affairs & Campaigns with Party Conference activity
• Supporting the Parliamentary launch event for the next stage of the TMI campaign
• Support the Policy, Public Affairs & Campaigns team in organising campaign activity and events
• Support the Policy, Public Affairs & Campaigns team in our policy research activity and analysis
• Summarising policy documents
• Assist in the organisation of meetings and events as necessary
• Assist with the administration of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Autism
• Other administrative duties as necessary.

Skills and Competence:
The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and in a busy environment, often unsupervised. In addition you will have:
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Proven organisational and time management skills
• Solid written communication and report writing skills for a variety of audiences
• A good telephone manner
• Good administrative skills including computer literacy, internet and word processing skills
• An interest in policy, campaigning and some knowledge of the political environment.

You will be preferably be available to work three days per week. We ask people to stay for three months, but we are flexible. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, so please stipulate in the cover letter when you would be available from.
