The Club Soda Guide - Social Media and Communications Manager
Want a volunteer 3 month role with awesome start-up business training?

Club Soda is a social business working with the charity Blenheim, and supported through a number of tech and health startup business accelerator programmes. Which means that we can give an ambitious individual free access to the training and connections that will really help if you want to start your own business - or just learn about startups and working in them!

We are looking for a creative and energetic social media manager to work on the launch of the “Club Soda Guide - Good Pubs for Mindful Drinkers” in Hackney this year, as well as helping with general social media and online community management for Club Soda.

You will also be involved in writing blogs and other online content, including pub and drinks reviews, handy inspirational lists, sober nights out, and more. You are:

  • a confident self-starter who already knows or can quickly learn your way around social media
  • not scared of learning how to use several new tools to manage our social media and content
  • good English speaker and writer - a good grasp of sarcasm and dry humour will be helpful too
  • not bored by some of the repetitive tasks that making the most of social media involves
  • interested or experienced in communicating with pubs and bars
  • able to offer us 3 days a week of your time (plus Friday afternoons for your training) for 3 months

We can offer:

  • on Friday afternoons you can join us on Mass Challenge, one of the world’s best accelerator programmes, for their workshops aimed at giving you all the tools you need to start up your own business
  • other opportunities for tailored learning from a digital health programme and specialist courses and mentoring from our partners and supporters Bethnal Green Ventures, TechHub, Google Campus etc
  • all of this is part of a personal development programme that we will agree with you at the start of your time with us. This will include active support from us to find you a paid job
  • your name on all the blogs and articles you write - we always give credit where it is due
  • flexible working hours based around your availability and other responsibilities or interests
  • we will pay your travel and lunch costs (monthly TFL travelcards and a daily lunch allowance)

W4MP Note:
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
