As a volunteer within the Fundraising and Marketing team at Providence Row you will assist the Corporate Relationship Officer with all aspects of his work, from leading volunteer sessions, to writing appeals and letters. It is a varied role which will also include supporting other members of the team, and getting involved with our communications, including emails and social media.

Purpose of the role: To support the Fundraising and Communications team to raise much needed donations from events, the local community, and mainly companies. As well as raising awareness of Providence Row and the issues our clients face.

There are four members of the team, each of whom oversee a separate area of Fundraising and marketing. Whilst all the team will need a certain amount of support we are happy to look at putting more emphasis on one of the areas depending on what your skill set is or what you are looking to gain more experience in.

Volunteer Specification

Essential
A good level of computer literacy with all Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel and Outlook
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent eye for detail
The ability to maintain a consistently high level of work, even if the work is repetitive
An interest in working for a busy Fundraising team working within the homelessness sector
A confident telephone manner
Ability to work to deadlines in a sometimes pressured environment
Ability to follow instruction and to use own initiative, following training and guidance
Confident in giving direction to volunteers
Committed to equal opportunities and respectful of other cultures
Reliable and trustworthy
Knowledge of social media

Duties
Responding to queries
Maintaining the database
Ensuring materials and information are kept up to date and in stock
Supporting the team with running events and mail outs
Liaising with supporters and stakeholders
Collecting and storing case studies
Managing the storage of photos
Support organising of individual and company volunteering
Research for funding or projects within the team
Updating the databases

Ideally 2 days a week for a minimum of 3 months.
