The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the professional body for internal auditors in the UK and Ireland, is looking to appoint a Policy and Public Affairs Executive, based primarily at its Westminster Office in Smith Square. Working to the Policy and External Relations Director, the new appointee will support the IIA across its broad policy and public affairs activities, working closely with the Chief Executive and communications team.
The main purposes of the job are:
• Keeping abreast of regulatory and public policy developments which affect the internal audit profession
• Working with the policy and external relations and communications teams to craft and communicate its messages for different key audiences
• Carrying out research and creating policy briefings
• Drafting speeches, presentations, opinion pieces and web content
• Monitoring the outputs of key stakeholders and influencers and major developments in the corporate governance arena
Who we're looking for
• A degree level education
• Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail
• Good oral communication and interpersonal skills
• A sound knowledge of business policy
• Good understanding of government and regulatory sources
• 2-3+ years’ experience in a government/policy/public affairs role, with an understanding of research processes
• The ability to manage multiple projects delivering to time and quality standards
• A ‘can-do’, proactive outlook
