We are looking for a volunteer in the office of Nick Hurd, MP for Ruislip, Northwood & Pinner. 

Based in Westminster, this volunteer position could suit a gap year student or recent graduate. Commuting travel expenses to and from Westminster will be reimbursed.

Main areas of work the volunteer could undertake include:

  • Undertaking general administrative/secretarial tasks
  • Assisting with the work of other colleagues and MP as required and communicating with internal contacts and local stakeholders
  • Competent use of IT including Microsoft Office package, email and internet to support the above
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

Candidates should have the following skills and qualities:

  • Good communication and administrative skills
  • Literate in Microsoft Office software, including MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel
  • Good team work ethic
  • An interest in politics
  • Knowledge of the constituency is desired, but not essential

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

We would like the volunteer to start in around October until December, but flexible.
