Job Details

Full Fact, the independent factchecking charity, is looking for a new member of our team. It’s a varied job and vital to our work.

We are looking for somebody organised and thorough who wants to make a big difference in a small but growing team, as a member of our communications staff and supporting our Director. The ideal candidate will be smart, friendly, meticulous, and results-driven.

You must have proven ability to take responsibility and get things done. You must work well and persuasively with others, whether within our team or externally up to the top levels of government and business. You need to be someone who will enjoy engaging with people who support our work, and an excellent writer who takes pride in producing succinct, compelling prose. An interest in politics is a plus, but more important is a commitment to political neutrality and a good understanding of impartiality. Finally you are likely to have a very strong academic record or otherwise proven analytical skills.

If you are all these things, Full Fact is somewhere you can make an impact. Starting just six years ago, we’re now a recognised non-partisan reference point for political debate. Both main parties have quoted our work and we’ve worked closely with everyone from the Office for National Statistics to newspapers and the BBC. That’s alongside our successful track record of getting all of them to correct the record when they get things wrong.

Your main responsibilities will be
• Telling Full Fact’s story: communicating our ethos and impact, and building support in real life and online.
• Writing clear and original social media and newsletter copy that makes people want to read our articles, and share them.
• Assisting the Director: managing his diary, correspondence, ensuring that relationships are maintained attentively and appropriately, working on a programme of engagement (including events) with potential supporters and assisting with fundraising.

Please read our standards and neutrality at: https://fullfact.org/about/jobs/.

Closing Date: 12 October 2016

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on the 17th and 18th October.
Starting date: from 31st October.
