Parliamentary Digital Service
The Digital Service forms part of the Parliamentary Administration. The PDS works closely with both the House of Commons and House of Lords to deliver new technologies and technology enabled change both through 3rd party contracts/procurements and in-house bespoke development. We are responsible for all operational ICT support for Parliament including a complex business applications portfolio and a secure and efficient network/desktop environment for MPs, Lords and Parliamentary staff.

THE ROLE

Q-10425 User Engagement Lead – Band B1 (£36,500 - £42,932) – 18 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

In the coming years the Digital Service will be introducing new services and will be working to help our customers get the most from these. In order to help us achieve this, we are looking for a number of User Engagement Leads to promote these services, and help all of our customers make the most of them.

The User Engagement Leads will oversee key engagement activities within major projects in the Digital Service. They will work with Members of both Houses and their staff, and staff from the two Houses to prepare them for the changes that will come with the implementation of new technology, and to support them through these changes, so that users get the most from them.

The user engagement leads will be motivated by a strong customer service ethic and a desire to support the UK democratic process: they will know about the work of Parliament and Members, and understand their priorities and the context within which they work.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
We are looking for someone who has:
Proven ability to form effective working relationships with key customers, stakeholders and colleagues within a complex management structure
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to explain technical issues to non technical people
Demonstrates good planning and organisational skills to prioritise to meet deadline and cope with fluctuations in workload
Broad and in-depth knowledge of a number of areas of Parliament (including Members and their staff), and an excellent understanding of the management structures, politics and culture of Parliament
